SUMMARY:Free Fiber Art Series\, Grades 1-4
DESCRIPTION:This year’s free mobile art classes for kids will be focusing on fiber arts! Your student will learn how to sew\, weave\, and felt in this 3-week series. \nGrades 1-4 will complete one project each week on October 5\, 12\, and 19. Classes run 4-5:30 pm in the V.O. Dobbins community room. \n\nLesson 1: Sewing skills; students will leave with a sewn felt pillow or stuffed animal\nLesson 2: Weaving on a loop loom; students will leave with a completed potholder\nLesson 3: Wet felting; students will leave with a felted soap or geode\n\nAbout this series: Mobile Art Studio classes are a grant funded initiative organized by the Kingsport Cultural Arts office\, City of Kingsport. This program is funded\, in whole or in part\, by the State of Tennessee\, Tennessee Arts Commission.
