If poor weather\, an alternate live presentation will occur in the planetarium theater. \nIf good weather\, visitors will be able to see celestial objects like the Moon\, planets\, star clusters\, galaxies and more through large telescopes! \nPlease dress for temperatures at least 20 degrees cooler than expected. We ask that visitors do not use white light flashlights to preserve your night vision. Green laser pointers are not allowed. Guided by an experienced instructor\, you’ll learn to shape\, texture\, and finish metal while crafting a rose that will never wilt. \nIn this workshop\, you’ll: \n\nCut and shape flower petals using shears and snips\nAdd unique texture with hammers and forming tools\nTwist multiple wires together to create a sturdy stem\nLeave with a handcrafted copper rose to treasure or gift\n\nNo prior experience is necessary—just bring your creativity.  \nAll tools and materials are provided.  \nPlease bring work gloves or garden gloves if you have them. \nPlease wear natural fibers\, close-toed shoes\, full length pants\, and have any long hair pulled back. Her work spans from fine art\, to jewelry\, to craft pieces. \nBrandon has over 15 years of teaching experience including workshops\, camps\, and college classes. She enjoys teaching and showing others how to bring their ideas to tangible realities and experience the joy of creating. Brandon grew up here in East Tennessee and enjoys helping keep the maker spirit history of this region alive.

This is a beginners class\, perfect for anyone that’s curious about the process and techniques that go into making Tiffany Style Stained Glass. \n \nPlease wear close-toed shoes and natural fibers like cotton/wool (jeans and a t-shirt work great). All long hair should be pulled back. \nAge 10+\, under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian. \n\n\n\nJoy Riggs started making Stained Glass in 2000. Her passion for it ultimately led her to open Studio 116 in Kingsport where she specializes in custom stained glass panels and whimsical suncatchers. Joy loves to create unique pieces based on her customers’ ideas\, and enjoys the challenge of trying something different.

She enjoys teaching and showing others how to bring their ideas to tangible realities and experience the joy of creating. Brandon grew up here in East Tennessee and enjoys helping keep the maker spirit history of this region alive.
