Kingsport’s annual Independence Day celebration returns as a part of the Twilight Alive concert with another year of Red, White, and BOOM. The event will feature food trucks, free concerts, and, of course, fireworks to cap the night.
The lineup for this year’s free concert will be headlined by popular rock group Grand Funk Railroad, supported by the Nashville Yacht Club band.
- WHEN: Saturday, July 4, at 7 p.m.
- WHERE: Downtown Kingsport – Main Street
- COST: Totally FREE!
Grand Funk Railroad began performing in 1969 for a crowd of 180,000. The group quickly rose to fame and even shared the stage with Led Zepelinn. For over 50 years, Grand Funk has been rocking out around the country, so whether you are a long-tenured fan or a newcomer, there will be something to enjoy with Grand Funk Railroad on stage.
Nashville Yacht Club Band, often referred to as NYCB, is an 8-piece band specializing in 70s and 80s R&B and pop. NYCB packs a punch of feel-good energy and disco beats into its performance, which is sure to get anyone in the audience dancing. The band has taken its talents from coast to coast after originating in New York City. Their set is a love letter to vintage dance floor beats.
Both of these talented musical groups will bring together a night of memories, celebration, and fun for all ages on America’s biggest day. After all, it is not summer without the Twilight Alive concert series, and it is not Independence Day without Kingsport’s Red, White, and BOOM!
Twilight Alive is one of the most popular concert series in the region and features eight weeks of free live music in the downtown area, which includes Kingsport’s annual Red, White, and BOOM Celebration on Saturday, July 4. Live music, family fun, and a variety of on-site food, drink, and beer vendors make Twilight Alive one of Kingsport’s favorite summer traditions.
