WITHIN THE CITY

Big Trucks, Little Kids and celebrating Kingsport’s Public Works Crews. (Photos)

I ended the week with one of my favorite community events sponsored by the City of Kingsport at the Kingsport Farmers Market —Public Works Day in Kingsport. I’ve always appreciated this celebration, but this year really stood out. The weather was perfect, the turnout was strong, and there’s something grounding about seeing the people who keep this city running every day.

The big trucks were a huge hit, of course—but what I loved most was watching the kids and their grandparents. You could see the pride and curiosity as they explored everything from snowplows to garbage trucks, learning how the city works behind the scenes. There’s something special about seeing generations connect over something so practical and essential.

Grateful for the folks who serve Kingsport every day—and for the chance to celebrate the work they do.
