Art That Moves Us Soirée

Create Appalachia Announces Inaugural Art That Moves Us Soirée Celebrating Creativity, Community, and the Future of the Arts in Appalachia
Create Appalachia is proud to announce the Art That Moves Us Soirée, an evening celebrating the artists, innovators, entrepreneurs, and community members who make creativity a driving force in our region. The event will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at MeadowView Conference Resort & Convention Center in Kingsport.
The Art That Moves Us Soirée will bring together supporters of the arts, local businesses, creative professionals, and community leaders for an unforgettable evening of connection, celebration, and inspiration. Guests will experience creativity in action through live artistic demonstrations and performances throughout the evening, offering opportunities to witness the creative process firsthand while engaging with the artists who help shape our region.
The evening will feature live musical entertainment, providing a sophisticated backdrop for conversation and networking without overpowering the event’s relaxed atmosphere.
Admission includes a prepared selection of food and refreshments, allowing guests to enjoy a full evening of dining, art, and community. A cash bar will also be available throughout the event.
One of the evening’s highlights will be a Live Auction featuring select original works and experiences, complemented by a Silent Auction showcasing artwork, handcrafted items, and other unique offerings donated by artists and community supporters. Proceeds from both auctions will directly support Create Appalachia’s mission while helping showcase the incredible talent found throughout the region.
Guests will also have the opportunity to explore a small Artists Alley, where selected regional artists and makers will exhibit and sell their work, creating additional opportunities for attendees to connect with local creatives and purchase one-of-a-kind pieces directly from the artists.
As a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the visibility and viability of creative careers in Appalachia, Create Appalachia provides opportunities for artists, makers, and entrepreneurs through workforce development programs, exhibitions, educational initiatives, and community events.
“The name Art That Moves Us carries a special meaning for Create Appalachia. It speaks to the power of art to move us emotionally, to inspire us, challenge us, and connect us as a community. But it also represents the movement we are creating here in Appalachia: moving people forward, building new opportunities, and moving our organization into its next chapter. As our first annual soirée, this event is a celebration of where we’ve been, where we’re going, and the incredible creativity that continues to move our region forward.”
— Davin Brown, President of Create Appalachia
The Art That Moves Us Soirée also marks an important moment of growth for the organization. As Create Appalachia prepares for its next chapter, funds raised through the event will support continued programming and the development of a future creative home that will allow the organization to expand its impact and better serve artists, entrepreneurs, students, and community members throughout the region.
