It’s that time of year again CJers! Our CJ’s Summer Heat Fun Fest block party is back for its 6TH YEAR! We are so excited to announce it and we can’t believe we’re doing this for the 6th time!
We’ve got tons of stuff this year to enjoy and we hope everyone comes to check it all out as it IS ALL AGES and NO COVER CHARGE!
We’ve got live music from The Color 7, Southbound and Full Sirkle (sound by THE one and only Tommy Starnes, in loving memory of our sweet Pickle). Fun For All Party Rentals will be bringing out a bouncy house and some fun stuff, including the dunk tank! The car show will be back as well so come hang out with us for that! Pie eating contests (one for the adults, one for the kiddos), the infamous beer chug, Squishmallows for sale, temporary tattoos for all ages, Italian ice vendor plus deep fried oreos and other fun treats, Wetzel’s Pretzel’s will be joining us for the very first time this year, as well as face painting by Sarah from Searah’s Shack, and this event (pending car show) will happen, RAIN OR SHINE! So if you’re bringing out the littles and you think it could rain, BRING TOWELS AND A CHANGE OF CLOTHES! We highly encourage letting the kids play out in the rain and in the bouncy house as long as there are no major safety threats. We love to have the kids out and they are here to be just that – KIDS!
This is just the beginning and we are sure we will have a surprise or two pending so make plans! Sunday, July 14th, 1p-7p! NO COVER, ALL AGES! Animals are welcome but we ask that animals stay outside and you MUST STAY WITH THEM. You can ask for a cup of ice water for them as well!! Please bring something to sit on outside like a blanket or towel so that their paws are not on the concrete – if you wouldn’t walk barefoot on the scalding pavement, then don’t let the fur babies!
A calendar has been created called the This is Kingsport events calendar which will serve as a non-public forum to provide citizens with information about social and organizational gatherings held within the city. The city will disseminate information to the public through this online calendar about social and organizational gatherings which are conducted or promoted by community partners with which the city currently has partnership agreements. Additionally, social or organizational gatherings held on city owned property to which the public at large is invited will be published on this calendar.
Each year the city enters into partnership agreements with multiple community partners some of whom in turn support the city by organizing events or promoting events of members and affiliates. By creating a common source for the dissemination of information about community events the city will be furthering its support of those community partners which in turn support the city. Moreover, the city wishes to and will benefit from highlighting gatherings which will be of benefit and enjoyment to the public.
