Mixed Metal Earrings: Brass & Copper Design Techniques
Explore how to work with multiple metals to create dynamic, wearable jewelry.
In this class, participants will create a pair of earrings using brass and copper while learning foundational cold forging techniques such as hammering, punching, and forming. You’ll also be introduced to wire link construction and how to combine metals for contrast and visual impact.
The class also covers important considerations for earring design, including material selection, comfort, and metal care.

No prior experience is necessary — just bring your creativity! All tools and materials are provided.
Please wear natural fibers, close-toed shoes, full length pants, and have any long hair pulled back. If you would like to bring your own safety glasses you may; otherwise, we will have extras here.

Chandra Ellerson is a multidisciplinary artist and founder of Chandra’s Earth Inspirational Jewelry, a handcrafted brand rooted in cultural storytelling, natural elements, and intentional design. With over half a decade of experience, she specializes in traditional cold forging techniques, working with copper, brass, and mixed materials to create structured, wearable pieces.
Her work has been featured nationally and internationally, including in Elle Magazine, and is sold through independent retail spaces, markets, and her online platform. In addition to her studio practice, Chandra facilitates hands-on workshops focused on foundational techniques, material selection, and thoughtful construction.
With a background in medical laboratory science, she brings precision, process awareness, and a strong emphasis on safety into her teaching, creating a clear and supportive learning environment for participants.

EVENT CALENDAR PURPOSE AND CRITERIA
A calendar has been created called the This is Kingsport events calendar which will serve as a non-public forum to provide citizens with information about social and organizational gatherings held within the city. The city will disseminate information to the public through this online calendar about social and organizational gatherings which are conducted or promoted by community partners with which the city currently has partnership agreements. Additionally, social or organizational gatherings held on city owned property to which the public at large is invited will be published on this calendar.
Each year the city enters into partnership agreements with multiple community partners some of whom in turn support the city by organizing events or promoting events of members and affiliates. By creating a common source for the dissemination of information about community events the city will be furthering its support of those community partners which in turn support the city. Moreover, the city wishes to and will benefit from highlighting gatherings which will be of benefit and enjoyment to the public.
Community partners may communicate their events or those which they promote to the city which will disseminate the information through the event calendar. Furthermore, the city of Kingsport will publish on the calendar those community events which are held on city property. In order to achieve the city’s goals only those events described herein will be published on the This is Kingsport event calendar which will be curated by city staff.
