Scott Adams Memorial Skatepark
Scott Adams Memorial Skatepark is an approximately 10,000 sq ft concrete park. Helmets, elbow/knee/wrist pads and other safety equipment are strongly encouraged. Children should be accompanied by an adult. The facility is unsupervised and users assume their own risk. Admission is free. The park is open to bikers and skateboarders. Playground equipment and shelters are nearby.
Bays Mountain Park
Bays Mountain Park & Planetarium is a 3500 acre nature preserve and the largest city owned park in the state of Tennessee. The Park features a picturesque 44 acre lake, a Nature Center with a state-of-the-art Planetarium Theater, and Animal Habitats featuring wolves, bobcats, raptors and reptiles.
Warriors’ Path
Warriors’ Path State Park was named for the Great Cherokee War and Trading Path. Since that time, the park land has known a long history of travelers and is still a pathway for modern-day outdoor enthusiasts. The 950-acre park is located on the shores of the Patrick Henry Reservoir on the Holston River. The park is home to premier boating and fishing activity, hiking trails, an internationally-renowned mountain bike trail system (which is a designated National Recreational Trail), an award-winning nature education program and a nationally recognized golf course.
Dogwood Park
Dogwood Park is a membership only community dog park, located adjacent to Hunter Wright Stadium. The 3-acre park has a 6-foot high vinyl-coated chain link fence and the park is divided into two sections. 2.5 acres is designated for large dogs and .5 acre for smaller dogs (25 pounds and elderly/feeble dogs). Small dogs may play in the large dog area at owners risk. The dog park area is secured by a keyless entry system which provides owners with assurance that other dogs have had the proper vaccinations and also provides an added measure of safety at the park. Restrooms, water fountains, doggie waste stations, park benches and dog agility equipment are also available at this location.
