A peep is not just a sugary (delicious) bunny or chick shaped marshmallow. Peep is also what it is called to have a quick look at something. So, leaf peeping is the act of looking at the leaves as they fall off the trees and begin to change colors.
In Kingsport, leaves are expected to start changing within the first few weeks of October.
Much like musician Louis Armstrong in his hit song “What a Wonderful World,” Kingsport residents too see trees of green. However, as autumn draws near, individuals can look forward to a multitude of vivid colors such as bright yellows, warm oranges, and deep reds. This vibrant fall foliage can be seen all throughout the city; that being said, Kingsport has some awesome hot spots for those interested in being immersed in nature.
If you are looking to go leaf peeping, Borden Park, The Greenbelt, Warriors Path State Park, and Bays Mountain State Park are perfect spots for you!!
You’ve heard the old adage, stop and smell the roses; this fall, stop and peep the leaves!!
